Traffic advisory: Automated toll lanes reopened at International Bridge

November 21, 2018 — Automated lanes at the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge toll plaza are now open.


To prevent confusion and customer congestion in the automated toll lanes, the prox card lanes were closed yesterday until a computer network issue could be resolved. The vendor has restored network services and all accounts have been updated.


The International Bridge Administration regrets any inconvenience and appreciates drivers’ patience.

November 20, 2018 — Due to toll software issues, automated lanes at the International Bridge toll plaza will be closed until further notice.


A disruption in the toll software vendor computer network is preventing customer transactions from being communicated to the toll booths. Customers should rest assured that all transactions are being recorded and correct balances are being maintained.


To prevent confusion and congestion in the toll lanes, the automated lanes will be closed until the issue can be resolved. The International Bridge Administration regrets any inconvenience and appreciates drivers’ patience.

Sault Ste. Marie Bridge Authority elects new officers

- The Sault Ste. Marie Bridge Authority (SSMBA) board of directors named Natalie Kinloch as its chair and Linda Hoath vice chair for 2019.
– The board consists of eight members: four Michigan members appointed by Gov. Snyder and four Canadian members appointed by The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL).
– The board heard reports on the bridge’s recent fracture critical inspection and an annual inspection.

At today’s Sault Ste. Marie Bridge Authority (SSMBA) board meeting, the bi-national body that supervises operations of the International Bridge elected officers for 2019.

Natalie Kinloch of Apple Hill, Ontario, was elected as the 2019 chair of the SSMBA board of directors. A member of the SSMBA board since 2015, Kinloch is the chief operating officer of The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL), (more…)
